• Dance Stop faculty member Al Blackstone... is the 2011 recipient of the Capezio/A.C.E. Award (Award in Choreographic Excellence). The competition, which is an highlight of the Dance Teacher Summit and included 15 top level choreographers from all over the U.S., was held at the Hilton Hotel in NYC. As the top winner, Al earned a $15,000 prize towards the production of his own show in NYC. Two former Dance Stop Dancers, Olivia Alvarez and Jen Bermeo, were part of Al's winning cast of dancers. • Our own Shannon McColl marks a new milestone in her dance education as she continues at the prestigious and highly selective dance program at the Boston Conservatory this fall! We are very proud of Shannon’s accomplishment and wish her continued success!
  
  
• Recent Dance Stop graduates are pursuing advanced dance training at University of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan, Mason Gross School of the Arts, and Rider University, among others. In the past several years, Dance Stop dancers have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships!
  
  
• We will have to share one of our most popular teachers with the Mason Gross School of the Arts, at Rutgers University, while Miss Bianca prepares to earn her B.F.A. in Dance! Miss Bianca debuted with a dance audition for the reality show Dance Wars, and recently made it all the way to the Las Vegas audition round for So You Think You Can Dance, on FOX.

• We are thrilled to let you know that our very talented vocal teacher, Miss Hope received her Master's Degree in Vocal Operatic Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College in 2010, as well as the Encouragement Award, a highly exclusive honor which is bestowed by the Metropolitan Opera Council.
  
  
• Congratulations to Joy Allan for her recent print and television ads for UNICEF, with Heidi Klum! We haven't forgotten her beautiful appearance during the holiday season in All My Children.

• The Dance Stop Dancers performed at the Strand Theater as part of the Unite for Life/Dancers Respond to AIDS fundraiser. Our students helped raise a remarkable $18,000 to support this valuable charity, which surpasses our accomplishment in all prior years! Another recent charity performance was to benefit the breast cancer research being conducted at the Weill Cornell Medical Center.
